インタビュアー「衣装とマントを着けてドクター・ストレンジになった自分の姿を初めて見たとき、どう思われましたか？（When you first saw yourself dressed as Doctor Strange, in the costume and cloak, what did you think?）」
なんというか、目もくらむほどワクワクしました、ハロウィーンの（仮装でヒーローのコスチュームを着た）子どもみたいに。とにかく、あれは本当に、まさに最初の瞬間で、アレックスがそれに気づいて、彼女が言ったんです。「あら、スーパーヒーローに変身するところなのね」と（笑）。「ああ、うん、そうなんだよ」。
I was, sort of, giddy, like a child at Halloween. I just, it was the first moment, really, properly, and Alex spotted it, she went, "Oh you're having the superhero moment, aren't you?" "Er, yeah, I think I am."

インタビュアー「60年代にこの（シリーズの）コミックが描かれた頃は、物事を柔軟に受け入れたり新しい体験を試したりといった、さまざまなカウンターカルチャー的発想がとても強い時代でした。そうした考え方は、映画にも受け継がれていますか？（When the comics were written in the '60s, various countercultural ideas, such as having an open mind and trying out new experiences, were very strong. Do any of those ideas carry through into the movie?）」
それはまあ、マインドフルネス（意識を向けること）に尽きるでしょう、言ってみれば。それが、現代に共通する派生物（derivative）、受け継がれてきたものだと思います。
It's about mindfulness, in a sense. I think that's the common derivative which has carried through.
文化面では、僕たちは今もあの時代を参考にしています。これからもずっとそうでしょう。文化全体、ポップ（ミュージック）や（その他の）音楽にとても勢いのあった時代でした。ただ、それを少し（手直ししながら）再構築する必要はあると思います。そのまま複製していたは駄目なんです。
Culturally, we're still referencing that era. We always will. It was a very strong moment in all culture, in all pop and music, but, um, I think you have to reinvent the wheel slightly. You can't just replicate it. This is a film for now.
でも、ティルダが言っていたように、本作がもつ最も強いメッセージは、「人は、思考でもって、現実を変える力をもつ」という考え方だとおもいます。そしてそれは、偉大な、素晴らしい、開放的な、利己心にとらわれないメッセージです。
But I think, like Tilda was saying, the strongest message is the idea that you, with your mind, have the power to change your reality. And that's a great, wonderful, freeing egoless message.
また、それは、他者のために行動するという考え方でもって行われますし、とても善良なものに目を向けることでもあります。映画の最後にドクター・ストレンジがたどり着くように。
And also you do that with the idea of doing it for the good of others, and you're onto a very, very good thing --as Doctor Strange gets to, by the end of the film.
